Frank Distler, MSc, is Senior Director of Business Development at RTI-HS, providing business development and customer relationship management expertise for the entire RTI-HS services portfolio. For more than 20 years, Mr. Distler has served in a business development role within various consultancy firms including Mapi Group, and, most recently, IMS Health (IQVIA). His expertise and experience cover health economics and outcome research; sales and marketing; clinical and postapproval solutions; and operational and strategic support for clients, such as assisting in strategic relationship agreements and working relationship approaches. In this context, Mr. Distler has experience building business relationships across big pharma, midsize companies, biotech, and the medical device industries.
Mr. Distler studied economics at the University of Mannheim in Germany and started his career in 1989 at Procter & Gamble as brand manager of its cough and cold business unit, known under the branding of Vicks. After over a decade of working in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Distler was promoted from his position as Director of Marketing of Innovex, an affiliate of Quintiles, to Head of Business Development at Quintiles, where he was responsible for all services regarding phase 2 to late-phase trials. Mr. Distler then gained international business development at Quintiles and i3 Research, handling blue chip pharmaceutical and midsize biotech company accounts, and at the Mapi Group, where he was in charge of developing the international late-phase business and setting up the company's presence in Germany. In 2012, he joined IMS Health, where he was responsible for all business development activities for its European health economics and outcomes research team, including data services (e.g., linkage, datamarts, real-world evidence generation and strategy development).
