Christine Barnett, PhD, is a Director of Health Economics at RTI-HS. Dr. Barnett is experienced in developing decision analytic models such as cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and budget-impact models to evaluate the health and economic implications of health technologies, including pharmaceutical and medical device products. Dr. Barnett has developed models and analyses in the areas of oncology, degenerative disc disease, thrombocytopenia, depression, rare pediatric diseases, erythropoietic protoporphyria, gastroparesis, Parkinson's disease, and kidney disease. Prior to joining RTI-HS, Dr. Barnett worked at the Mayo Clinic studying patient adherence to multiple medications in the context of type 2 diabetes. In addition, she worked on a grant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she developed models and software used to determine the commercial distribution system for dispensing antivirals during an influenza pandemic. Her research has been presented at numerous professional conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, including Value in Health, Medical Decision Making, Cancer, Journal of Medical Economics, and Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases.
