Josep Ramon Marsal, PhD, is a Research Biostatistician at RTI-HS since 2021. Dr. Marsal is a graduate of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Statistics. He holds a doctoral degree in Health and Biomedical Research Methodology and has more than 15 years of experience working in different public institutions. Before joining RTI-HS, he worked at Epidemiology Unit of Cardiovascular Department at Vall d’Hebron Hospital where he was mainly involved in the design, programming and analysis of observational studies in the cardiovascular field. He also worked at IDIAP Jordi Gol, both developing data management and statistical analysis tasks using the SIDIAP database of electronic medical records and giving methodological and statistical advice on primary care studies. Dr. Marsal has coauthored over 80 publications in medical literature and was a reviewer of methodological manuscripts for the Spanish Journal of Cardiology. He was an associate professor on statistics and clinical methodology research in master programs at Lleida’s University. He is proficient in several statistical techniques, including inverse probability weighting, missing imputation, bootstrapping, and regression models.
