Ravi Goyal, PhD, is a Senior Director of Health Economics at RTI-HS. Dr. Goyal has a background in pharmacy and is trained in health services research. Dr. Goyal has a background in pharmacy and is trained in health services research. Dr. Goyal has extensive experience in designing and conducting retrospective observational studies based on large population level databases. He has led research in health care cost, quality, and access, in a variety of disease areas, including cancer, mental health, pain, cardiovascular disease, maternity and child health, and respiratory disorders. Prior to joining RTI-HS, Dr. Goyal worked as a health services researcher at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He possesses substantial experience in studying treatment patterns, health care utilization and burden of illness using retrospective claims and administrative databases linked with cancer registries. Dr. Goyal also has experience in assessing adverse events, disease progression, medication adherence, drug utilization, and associated costs.
Dr. Goyal's research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Cancer, Lung Cancer, Journal of Cancer Survivorship, Medical Care, Health and Place, North Carolina Medical Journal, Journal of Medical Economics, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Value in Health, Maternity and Child Health Journal, and Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research. Dr. Goyal also routinely serves as a peer reviewer to several scientific journals. His research has been presented at numerous professional conferences, such as the Society for Medical Decision Making, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American Society of Hematology, the North Carolina Public Health Association Conference, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Cancer Conference.
