Verity Watson, PhD, is a Senior Economist at RTI-HS. Dr. Watson has over 25 years of experience in conducting stated-preference research related to health and the environment. She is an expert in the design of stated-preference surveys, and her research has informed the state of practice in preference-elicitation studies. Dr Watson has extensive experience in applying stated-preference methods to elicit the preferences of patients and other healthcare decision-makers. Her most recent research has elicited preferences for prostate cancer treatments, antibiotic prescribing, vaccines, and maternity care.
Dr Watson is also an honorary professor in the Health Economics Research Unit at the University of Aberdeen, where, prior to joining RTI-HS, Dr. Watson was a professor and led the Preference and Value research theme. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications in journals that include Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, Medical Decision Making, Social Science and Medicine, The Patient, Value in Health, The Lancet: Public Health, and BMJ Open.
