Sapna Rao, PhD, is a Research Epidemiologist in the Pharmacoepidemiology and Risk Management group with RTI-HS. She has 10 years of full-time and part-time experience conducting pharmacoepidemiology research in industry and consulting.
Dr. Rao’s PhD research focused on using advance causal methods in patients with chronic kidney disease. While working on her doctorate degree, she also gained industry experience supporting real-world evidence research by designing observational studies, developing protocols, developing study reports, and disseminating data to internal and external stakeholders. Prior to pursuing her PhD in epidemiology, she worked as a health economics and outcomes research analyst and is also trained as a pharmacist. She has experience in meta-analysis, designing physician surveys, and analysis of multiple US claims databases in several therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, immunology, oncology, neurology, and nephrology.
